Born amongst the snow-capped alps, glistening lakes and lush hillsides where cows roam free, Pharmalys Laboratories knows how special the elements are in its homeland of Switzerland. We also know that a home, no matter where in the world, can be filled with love and safety when provided with the right resources.
According to experts, there are six basic needs that newborns require. Those needs are security, clothing, sleep, nutritious food, sensory stimulation, love and attention. That means, no matter where in the world a baby is born – whether desert, island, mountainside or valley – given the proper resources, a baby can thrive.
While babies rely mostly on the mother and father to meet these needs, parents and caregivers may also seek out additional support. Many times, support in the form of nutritious food is needed. Although most infants receive some breast milk, most are not exclusively breastfeed or continue to breastfeed as long as recommended, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In fact, 60% of mothers do not breastfeed for as long as they intend to.
The global expansion of Pharmalys Laboratories aims to support parents who are unable or decide to stop breastfeeding. With a commitment to global health, the future goals of expansion allows Pharmalys Laboratories to reach more people with its products and services, while working with local partners in the countries it serves. This helps Pharmalys Laboratories better understand the needs of local patients and healthcare providers, and to develop products and services that meet those needs.
Pharmalys Laboratories has already quickly expanded over its history to more than 35 countries, including the Middle East and Africa. This includes many countries that other companies typically aren’t active in.
“We’re present where many companies aren’t,” says Gautam Agarwal, the Chief Operating Officer at Pharmalys Laboratories. “Having a presence in all these countries allows us to bring our purpose into action and give all children the best start in life.”
Our expansion provides a number of benefits to the company and the parents and infants we serve, including accelerated development and access to new products, enhanced customer service and support, infant nutrition education, and increased brand awareness and reputation.
“Babies everywhere deserve the best care and nutrition,” says Chief Operations Officer of Pharmalys Laboratories, Gautam Agarwal. “It’s our purpose to fulfill that mission.”
With the goal of global reach, Pharmalys Laboratories’ cultural mindset expands from its production and products to its employees and partners. Working with an agile mindset in the rigid medical setting of the healthcare and food industries has allowed the team Pharmalys Laboratories to be innovative in the way they communicate across borders. For example, the medical affairs department is often in touch with more than 10 different countries in a single day, Baumgartner says.
“We’re constantly working though multi-national activities with on-going dedication to innovation and sustainable growth”, he says. “This allows us to adapt and be closely aligned with the cultures and countries that we are serving.”
In the coming days, weeks and months, Pharmalys Laboratories looks forward to fulfilling their growth mindset and underlying mission to serve the babies of the world. With every bottle of infant formula, puree, pouch or cereal, we strive to provide infants with a complete balance of essential nutrients – made with love – from our home in Switzerland to yours.
